Somewhat of a Passion for the Younger Opposite Sex

Dear Diary,

I love babysitting, and I love little boys! Perhaps, like "Lewis Carroll" (sp?) I have somewhat of a passion for the younger opposite sex, nothing weird though, don't get me wrong!

At any rate, I watched a young chap named Bryce (whose last name I already have forgotten - hm!). We played football, and checkers (he beat me), and we watched T.V. - including "Aliens" (I couldn't bare it!), and "Revenge of the Lepus" or something about killer rabbits, it was a riot!! I really enjoyed myself, and hope to come back - perhaps Bryce had fun too. Must depart.

Yesterday, I for Once Wore Lipstick

Dear Diary,

I really like those four - especially Ruby & Amy. Ruby because of her outgoing, SNL-loving, original personality, and Amy because she is so "in" - plus she reminds me of Rebecca. Jenny reminds me of "Punky Brewster," and she also lusts after M.S.S. - although she has "given him up" because of his conceitedness. Oh well. I would be with them all now, but my earlier illness prevents me.

You see, I was sick (and ever so sore) this morn, so mum kept me home from school, thus I couldn't attend tonights dance, or spent the night @ Ruby's. A pity! Although I did get to do something very exciting instead: At last, my parents let me see ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. I enjoyed it far more than my mom and dad may ever know. [smiley face]

And now I sit in bed, contemplating my current affairs. Yesterday, I for once wore lipstick - blood red to be exact - and my hair down - somewhat curled. I believe perhaps I might have been attractive? Perhaps, but I am so very tired, so excuse me please, and good night.

Cheating Out of a Taste of My Adolescence

Dear Diary,

I have a lot to say, and feel that if I don't write it now, I never shall - ever get the feeling? It has been 10 busy, regretful days since I have written to you, and of how I am sorry. But I am even more apologetic to myself, who I have been cheating out of a taste of my adolescence!

I am doing commendable in school, and if I haven't mentioned them yet, have made 4 new friends (in 4th period). They are Ruby, Jenny, Teresa, and Amy (who came from the nearby --- Straits) invited me (and the others above) to the splendid 14th overnighter! I saw "Prince of Thieves" (enjoyed it thoroughly), and had a generally wonderful time.

I Want to See Ancient Towers, Meditate in Cathedrals

Dear Diary,

Hello!, from my complicated world of questions. I trust life goes well? I have really been seriously thinking about becoming involved in an exchange student program. Maybe I could go to Findhorn, or the place where the second 'Gnome' book took place (strange, but whenever I see a picture from those books, I feel as though I've been there [hmm]). I want to see ancient towers, meditate in cathedrals, nap in green gardens, near a sprinkle of water. When you find there, you'll find me.

Allow Me to Relate Myself to You

Dear Diary,

Hello!! Indeed, I am back, as strange as always, and all else that accompanies it. Allow me to relate myself to you:

My name? Sarah Elizabeth Hoopes, and also [BP logo] (my trademark). And I, like many others, am ["13" crossed out], 12 (there). A truly challenging year.

Anyhow, I was born in ---, Or. on Jan. 2, 1978 (I was first baby born in Union County that year) and later moved up to Tacoma, Wa, where I am now (though not the same house).

Well. I'm truly sorry, but I must interrupt this, for my mother has requested I switch off the light. Until next time. ~S

Just so you know, today (since it is Sun.) I slept in quite late, then since our good friends couldn't attend, my mom & I went to see Little Shop of Horrors at TAG, then when we returned home, I watched T.P. & the end of 'Amadeus' (sp?), quite good.

Well, didn't invite Rob to the party. I just don't want to rush things, half of me anyway, you can imagine what my hormones say (!).

Just finished watching 'Quantum Leap' (quite good), and before that 'Amadeus'. Unbelievably spectacular! Movies always have a strange way of completely changing you making you want to be there! I am so immortaly jelious [sic] of Wolfegang (sorry, but its true!), but somehow not so much as, well, you know.- S

I am so sick of the phone ringing!

Dear Diary,

Life is good. Somehow, still, I feel as though

Mrs. P. (my teach) doesn't like me that much. May because I'm so 'perfect'? I hate that.

I still feel reluctant around Andrea, we've run out of 'topics', and somehow I'm not comfortable around her. And T. is of with her hooked on friends. In class, I think kids are tired of me talking (raving) about T.P.

And everyone around me is pairing off with people and 'going' with each other. Me? No, I'm just every body's friend. -Sarah

Worked w/ my dad today on the microscope, enjoying it thoroughly. I love you dad.

Barnically Crevice

Dear Diary,

Today we went to Owens beach. I hate to talk about the bad stuff but a certain part did stand out. You see I slipped, barefoot, on a slimy rock, forcing my right naked foot in to a barnically [sic] crevice. Nice, huh?

Also saw 'Abyss.' Whoa! That was one great movie. However, it did put a damper on my already damp hydrophobea [sic].

PS In 'The Abyss,' the line: "Don't cry baby" appeared (See: 'Dreams' May 10). 

Sixth grade camp is rapidly approaching.
